Training Choir
Grades 1-2
Monday 5:00-5:45 pm
Tuition: $330/year

The Training Choir is a choir for 1st and 2nd grade students. The Training Choir teaches an appropriate developmental and sequential method of music reading and writing skills while working with the proper use of the child's singing voice. Songs, games, folk dances are all a part of the training choir rehearsal. The Training Choir performs at the annual winter and spring concerts and also sings at civic events in the Mankato area.
Intermediate Choir
Grade 3
Monday 6:00-6:45
Tuition: $330/year

The Intermediate Choir is a choir for 3rd graders and sometimes students in the 2nd grade who are second year MCC members. This choir continues the sequential music reading and writing instruction that began in the Training Choir and prepares students to read choral music in future choirs. The Intermediate Choir performs on the annual winter and spring concerts and also sings at civic events.
Allegro Choir
Grade 4-5

The Youth Choir is composed of 4th and 5th graders. This choir builds on the music reading skills learned in younger choirs but also works with the new singer to teach them reading and proper performing skills. The Youth Choir presents yearly winter and spring concerts and also sings at civic events, school concerts, and choral festivals.
Concert Choir
Grades 6-8
Monday 6:00-6:55

The Concert Choir is a choir for sixth through eighth grade students with unchanged voices. This choir sings three part treble music and continues to develop music reading skills. New singers are welcome to the choir and will work with directors to build music reading and performing skills. The choir presents yearly winter and spring concerts and also sings at civic events, school concerts, choral festivals, and also enjoys a yearly fall overnight retreat.
Melodia Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass
Grades 9-12
Monday 6:30-8:00
Tuition: $480/year

Melodia functions as three choirs; high school men's, women's and a mixed choir. Melodia rehearses for one and a half hours per week with 30 minutes as separate choirs and an hour combined. Students come from the Greater Mankato Region and develop strong bonds with other singers from many area schools.
MAYC registers new singers from May to September and again during the months of December and January.

Winter Concert
All of the choirs perform in a Winter Concert at the beginning of December. This is an opportunity for each choir to be showcased, as well as a chance for all of the choirs to sing together as one.
